The second
International
Salon for Peace Initiatives is organized in the framework of the « International Decade for the Promotion of a Culture of Peace and
Non-Violence for the Children of the World » declared by the UN in
1998. This Salon will
help a
wide public get familiar with the culture of peace and non-violence.
168 French and international exhibitors will present their peace and
non-violence intitiatives on 116 booths. They will propose 40 interactive workshops and other activities. 15 000 visitors are expected to come.
This Salon will host the International Conference « Actors for a culture of peace and non-violence ». Please find below the program of the Salon: Program of the Salon The Salon and the International Conference will highlight the numerous dimensions of the culture of peace and non-violence: education, justice, non-violent resolution of conflicts, mediation, human rights defense, environmental respect and development, disarmament, equality between men and women...
The International Conference will create a space for thinking and meeting between all those involved in this field and the public. They will encourage the creation of networks at an international scale and will help to give more visibility to the culture of peace and non-violence.
The second international Salon for Peace Initiatives will be held under the auspices of the UNESCO, that is fully working within the dynamics of the International Decade for the promotion of the culture of peace and non-violence.
The second Salon is a continuation of the first Salon organized on 4, 5 and 6 June 2004 in the Cité des Sciences et de l'Industrie in Paris. The first Salon has achieved a great success, with more than 10 000 visitors during the three days.
Brings its financial support: Media partnerships were concluded to ensure a media coverage. The Camino Festival « Acting for non-violence » will take place at the same time (on 2, 3 and 4 June 2006) in Tournefeuille (France - 31). French Coalition for the Decade
